Sport bet has become a thing most young folks are into craving to make money out of it in just a twinkle of an eye. Nevertheless, the same sport bet is taking lives of many leaving some in deep debt after losing on the grounds that, some borrow money from friends to stake it but end up losing.
However, sad news reaching us has it that, a young Ghanaian boy who resides in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region have committed suicide after losing a sport bet.
The deceased whose name was given as Hakim had bet with his last 1,000 Ghana cedis hoping to win a whopping amount of 150,000 Ghana cedis at the end of the day only for a team to lose making his dream not to come to pass.
This got him moody as according to report went back home that Sunday night. Just because they knew he had lost his bet, His brother who narrated the said story stated that, they allowed him to have some rest since the bet really got to him.
Hakim according to report didn’t come out of his room early like he use to so this got his elder sister worried. She tried to check up on him only to find him hang himself to death.
However, the Ghana police have been involved in the sad incident for further investigation on his death.
