You Won’t Be Allowed To Celebrate X’mas Without Covid-19 Vaccination Card – Mark Okraku To Ghanaians

If you want to have a good time in Ghana this December by going to social gatherings and events, you’ll need the COVID-19 immunization card.

The government has developed regulations and standards to manage and avoid the spread of COVID-19 during the December festivities, according to Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Honourable Mark Okraku Mantey.

He explained some of the restrictions on Hitz FM, saying that persons who have not been vaccinated and hence do not have vaccination cards will not be able to attend social gatherings.

”You must show that you have been vaccinated to be able to attend,” he said, adding that “age five and above would require a mask.” For special occasions such as dining and drinking, masks would be removed”

He reminds event planners not to overcrowd their locations in order to practice social distancing.

“We want to keep you and your siblings and your family alive,” the Deputy Tourism Minister said on Joy FM on Saturday, explaining the requirements. “If we should come together at a particular place, especially indoor events, and we do not put some checks and balances in place, we are likely to have challenges after December.”

Mark Okraku Mantey also said that the government will begin a “December in GH” campaign to promote tourism during the holiday season. According to him, around 150,000 people are anticipated to visit Ghana during that time, thus the government is working hard to prevent a probable surge in Covid-19 cases.
