You and who freed our Nation? – Bridget Otoo reacts to Akufo-Addo’s Independence Speech

Ghana is celebrating it’s 64th Anniversary of Freedom today 6th March and you will forever be forgiven to think there will be no savage reactions in the media today.

President Akufo-Addo in his speech bragged about How Ghana was freed from colonialism and also being the first colonial country in the continent to achieve such feat leaving the door opened for others to follow.

“64 years ago, we freed our nation, Ghana, from the shackles of colonialism and imperialism. We were the first nation, in colonial Africa, to gain our independence from the colonial power, and, thus, became the torchbearer of the struggle for liberation of the African continent.” The President’s statement reads

The particular word ‘we’ in the President’s statement does not sound well to Bridget Otoo with the fact that he played no role in gaining independence.
