Kumawood actor Sean Paul has questioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for bringing up the disputed E-Levy when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo promised Ghanaians that there is money in the country for progress.
Before it was authorized by parliament, the Electronic Levy drew a lot of criticism from Ghanaians and stakeholders.
Sean Paul, a well-known actor, stated in an interview that “the implementation of E-Levy will effect the crisis of Ghanaians since the poorest people in the country will suffer more.”
“I wonder why the president, who told Ghanaians, ‘yete sika so,’ is pushing Ghanaians to pay the E-Levy before his government can improve Ghana,” he says.
“A country with fertile terrain and abundant natural resources, such as Ghana, does not require loans or E-levy to grow its economy,” Sean Paul remarked.
“God has blessed Ghana with everything a country needs to develop, but our difficulty is Ghana’s lack of leaders who are concerned about the country. They’ve all come to better themselves and their families, with little regard for the country.
Furthermore, Ghanaians chastised the adoption of the E-Levy, but Nana Addo’s government ignored the public outcry because they believe they now have sovereignty, but the same that brought them to power will return them to the opposition.”
