Regional Coordinating Councils serve as both the administrative offices of Regional Ministers and also as their official residences as well.

The NPP in the region had scheduled to hold the conference on Friday at the premises of the Regional Coordinating Council in Kumasi a move some aspirants in the NPP polls have protested against it.

It was against this backdrop that Mr. Yamin in an exparte injunction application, went to court asking the court to restrain the party from holding the conference at that venue.

The court thus adjourned the hearing of the case to next week Friday.

However, reports suggest the election committee chaired by Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah has changed the NPP’s venue of the regional conference from the Regional Coordinating Council to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Secretary to the Ashanti NPP’s regional Elections Committee, Henry Kwabena Kokofu, indicated that the date for the conference has also been changed from Friday 27th to Saturday 28th May 2022.
