A Ghanaian Twitter user has questioned why Muslims in Ghana spend so much to travel to Mecca annually.
The popular Twitter account CheEsquire said he heard Muslims in Ghana pay GH¢40,000 per head for their annual pilgrimage.
He added that every year about 3000 Muslims in Ghanaian take the pilgrimage to the Holy land.
According to CheEsquire assuming they decide to invest the Mecca money into their communities that would amount to GH¢120 Million annually and if 5 years it will be GH¢600 Million.
He summed up his tweet with a point that this investment will make a positive impact in the Muslim communities.
I hear Ghanaian Muslims will pay about Gh¢ 40k per head for their pilgrimage to Mecca and about 3000 of them go there every year. Assume they decide to invest Gh¢40k into their communities that will be Gh¢120m annually & Gh¢600m in 5yrs. I think that can make a positive impact.
