Wendy Shay Calls On FDA To Lift Ban Placed On Advertisement Of Foreign Alcoholic Beverages After Losing Thousands Of Dollars Worth Deal

Rufftown records signee Wendy Addo popularly known in showbiz as Wendy Shay has gone hard on the Foods and Drugs Authority (FDA) after she lost a deal worth thousands of dollars to advertise an alcoholic beverage.

Recall that the  Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) in 2015, banned Ghanaian celebrities from advertising alcoholic beverages as an adherence to a World Health Organization (WHO) policy.

According to FDA, the ban was part of its efforts to ensure that minors are protected from being lured into alcoholism.

Wendy Shay who was obviously unhappy about this action by the FDA took to her Twitter page to vent out her frustration.

According to Wendy Shay, the enforcement of the law is taking food from their table by binding them with such a law.

She wrote: ‘I just lost a deal worth 1000s‘ of dollars with this foreign alcohol company..I didn’t know in GH Celebrities can’t advertise for alcoholic beverages according to FDA. Like Seriously?! ‬ ‪Small food we go chop too u wan take 4rm our mouth. Gh celebs wake up !!FDA Lift dat ban!!

This Tweet was met with several reactions with people condemning the FDA and others applauding them.
