The introduction of tricycles for commercial use is a worry to some individuals and opinion leaders due to its high rate of accidents.
Obuasi has witnessed a high number of accidents and careless driving by Pragia since it was introduced in the Municipality for a period of time.
A lot of measures have been put in place to curb such happening but has yielded no positive results.
A local radio station in Obuasi shaft 98.1 FM morning show in an interview with the Public Relation Officer for the Obuasi urban guards, Inspector Anto monitored by Soireenews correspondent Yaw Opoku, said the usage of Pragia has come to stay especially in Obuasi but the rate at which the tricycle gets involved in accident is a worry hence vital measures to be put in place to curb the menace.
He stressed that the Obuasi Municipal Assembly OMA is coming with a plan which will end casualties recorded by Pragia.
He concluded by saying a lot of minors are part of the riding, so what the Assembly has intended to do is to organize training for the riders who are beyond 18 and issue a valid license for them to monitor their daily operations to help bring an end to an accident caused by the tricycle motorbike.
