According to the group, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful ought to have apologized to Ghanaians for the turmoil surrounding the SIM registration process and her comment against Quick Loan debtors.

This is stated in a statement released by the Network in response to the Minister’s announcement of the deadline extension, which is signed by its convenor, Ras Mubarak, a former member of parliament for Kumbungu.

“We take notice with dissatisfaction of the announcement made today by the Minister of Communications regarding the disastrous SIM re-registration effort, in which she neglected to extend an apology to Ghanaians for the disruption related to the exercise.

“The Minister for Communications should be held accountable for the confusion and mayhem that have characterized the illicit sim-card registration effort,” the statement said.

The network also voiced worries about the SIM Registration App, which would cost GH₵5 and launch on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

It characterized the development as unconstitutional because the imposition was made without the legislature’s approval.

If the SIM registration deadline is extended until 2090, We Won’t Register; Quick Loan debtors stated.
