We Have Heard Your Plea, Now Let Us All Fix Ghana – Ken Ofori-Atta Begs Ghanaians

The #FixTheCountry hashtag has dominated headlines in the past week. This is been advanced by disgruntled Ghanaians – mostly youth who says their leaders have failed them.

This movement, which has gained support from all quarters of the political divide, led to resolve for some protests on the streets of Accra on May 9 although the protest didn’t come off due to injunction.

And reacting to the nationwide uproar, Ghana’s finance minister Offori Atta has said that the government has heard the cry of the youth and is moving swiftly to solve the issues bothering them.

Hon. Ken Ofori Atta in a press briefing stated that in the next coming weeks, the nation is sure to see improvement in employment as well as basic amenities like safe and adequate water supply to areas in need.

He also included that the government is working around the clock to secure more jobs in a partnership with private sectors so the youth can be employed.

More importantly, the minister urged the youth who started the hashtag #FixTheCountry to equally tweet with a different hashtag #FixItTogether.
