We Are Capable Of Managing The Economy – Minister of Interior

Ambrose Dery, the Minister of the Interior, has stated that the government is capable of handling the country’s economy, despite the fact that the global COVID-19 pandemic has forced many countries throughout the world to struggle.

He claimed that the government’s decision to slash spending by 20% across all departments and ministries demonstrates the government’s determination to improve the economy.

He claims that the country’s economy can be managed without the help of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

“We’ve trimmed our budget by 20% across the board.” Why do we behave in this manner? We want to demonstrate to the country that we are an administration capable of managing the economy. We don’t need the IMF to tell us what we should reduce,” Dery told Beatrice Adu on Wednesday’s Big Bulletin (16 March).

“We’ve slashed it [budget allocations] and we’re still here. I will add that the economic difficulties should be viewed in context; it is a global issue. Even now, look at the daily increases in the price of petroleum items on the global market; yet have we given up? “We haven’t,” Dery clarified.
