The new Multimillion-Dollar Market in Kejetia has flooded once again after a heavy downpour Sunday night which lasted for few minutes.
The new market according to traders in the area floods anytime there is a downpour. As at 7 am Monday morning, traders were left stranded as the flood had taken over their shops.
We have called on KMA and the contractors severally to fix the situation but all to no avail. We have to wait for about 2-3 hours anytime it rains before we can open our shops and start work. The traders lamented in an interview.
Nana Kwesi Prempeh, chairman of the petty traders association in the area also expressed worry about the situation and pleaded for urgent support from the government. He further blamed the contractor for shoddy work done and promised the traders that the association and its members will meet at 10 am Monday morning to decide on the next line of action.
Other areas like Adum, Roman Hill, Pampaso, and Alabar were not left out in the flood’s effect.
