VIDEO: Ghanaian Innovator builds house from plastic waste in Ashaiman

An Innovator,Nelson Boateng disclosed that, acquiring a home in Ghana is very expensive so,he has developed a concept to create affordable housing for low income workers especially residents in Ashaiman.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kofi Adoma on Kofi TV,Nelson explained that, he prefers using plastic waste from gutters to build houses because, they contain rough soil that binds the plastic infused blocks firmly and iron rods to hold the pillars together; Materials used are 30% plastic and 70% sand to serve as a fire retardant.

According to him, this method of construction is less expensive.

He further stated that,it also keeps the room cool and maintains its temperature so,when one uses an air conditioner,it does not consume much energy.
