Loudmouth social media critic, Twene Jonas has found himself in dire strait, after he made a video viciously insulting Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. In the video, Twene Jonas opined that, any Ghanaian chief who complains about illegal small scale mining activities, popularly known as galamsey, is a “Big fool”.
He continued that, the Chiefs were the same people who permitted the miners to carry on such degrading activities on their lands. He repeatedly hurled insults on the Chiefs including Otumfuo, which infuriated Asanteman after the video went viral.
Entourage of Otumfuo are seriously unhappy about Twene Jonas’s gross disrespect towards the Asantehene and have taken him on fiercely in the past days. The latest response from Asanteman to his unruly demanour may not only get him perturbed but force Twene Jonas to apologize to the Asante fraternity and Otumfuo as well.
A unknown man who identified himself as Kwasi Boakye made a Facebook live video on Friday, holding a Schnapp and poultry eggs and repeatedly evoked curses on the YouTuber. He angrily beseeched “Antoa” to kill Twene Jonas if he ever step foot in Kumasi, eat or drink any water in Kumasi. He extended the curses to the family of Twene Jonas who are supportive of what he’s doing.
Some Ghanaians condone how Twene Jonas criticise the government and believe it will help put them on their toes, however others are of the view that, he must do it with some iota of respect considering how he hurls insults at some big personalities including the president.
