TV3 Date Rush

Popular TV3 show Date Rush, according to Ghanaian politician Nana Obiri Boahen, is able to draw in more sponsors than the Ghana Premier League.

For the previous five seasons, the Ghana Premier League was without a major sponsor.

Under former President Kwasi Nyantakyi, Zylofon Cash served as the Ghana Premier League’s final major sponsor.

The Ghana FA is having trouble luring sponsors, according to Nana Obiri Boahen, because of the caliber of the league.

“I’ve heard the league has no sponsors and that the GFA is having trouble finding sponsors.

“Why should he invest in this league when he can sponsor Date Rush? The league’s standards are subpar. It’s not like I’m disparaging them, but the league’s standards are quite poor,” he said in an interview with Okay FM.

There must be an administrative issue if the leagues in Tanzania and Ethiopia perform better than Ghana’s.

We sit down as a nation and act as if everything is fine even though Ghanaian players are moving to Tanzania and Ethiopia, he continued.
