Turkish side Eskisehirspor terminate Jerry Akaminko’s contract

Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko has parted ways with Turkish Super Lig side  Eskisehirspor, according to reports in the media.

Akaminko had his contract with the Turkish outfit terminated after being deemed surplus by manager Samet Aybaba having returned from a long-term injury.

The player according to report is yet to be served with a notice from the Club.

The ex- Ghana U17 skipper suffered an injury and made a return in October last year.

The former Hearts of Lions defender is expected to land himself a new Club before the January transfer window comes to an end.

Eskisehirspor are also expected to release an official stalemate confirming they have released the player who had two more years on his contract.

The tough-tackling center-half scored once in 80 appearances for Eskisehirspor since joining them in 2012 from fellow Turkish side Manisaspor.

Akaminko failed to make Ghana’s squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil after suffering a terror ankle injury in Ghana’s pre-World Cup friendly with the Netherlands when he awkwardly landed on his feat having won a battle in the air with an opponent.
