Six observers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the ongoing limited registration exercise are currently, on admission at the Ga West Municipal hospital after they were reportedly sprayed with pepper and hatched with machetes and pelted with stones.
The incident occurred at Weija-Gbawe Oblogo in the Greater Accra Region.
According to reports filed by Fifii Ankomah, some ‘thugs’ alleged to have been hired by Madam Tina Mensah stormed the registration centre to carry out the bizarre incident.
He added, one young man believed to be an NPP came to the centre to monitor the exercise but was not allowed because he was not certified to represent the party.
He said, at around 4:30pm when the exercise had almost ended, a vehicle occupied by some ‘thugs’ including the young man who was asked to vacate the centre, stormed the centre wielding machetes and stones.
The alleged ‘thugs’ reportedly sprayed the victims with the pepper, pelted them with the stones and allegedly hatched them with the machetes. Three of the victims are in a critical condition while the other three according to him, are in a stable condition.
Meanwhile the police have arrested one person suspected to be connected to the attack.
