There was pandemonium in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State following the drowning of three children in a river.
The children between the ages of seven and 10 were said to have gone to river ‘Oluwa’ in Sabo area of the town to swim when they got drowned.
The lifeless bodies of the dead children identified as Iyabo Isiaka, Nife Akinnuoye, and Seun Segun were discovered when they were floating on the river.
The news of their demise caused commotion in the community as parents and relations ran to the river to ascertain the identities of those involved.
At the scene of the incident, many residents wore pensive mood while others wept uncontrollably.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro stated that the children fell from the bridge and got drowned.
