Thief electrocuted to death at Lapaz

Confirmed reports reaching our desk at Opera News states that a man suspected to be a thief has been electrocuted at Lapaz New Market in Accra.

The thief is said to have attempted to break into a computer shop to steal some items when he got stuck and electrocuted.

An eyewitness who opted to speak anonymously said that the deceased is one of the boys who ran errands for shop owners at the market and expressed shock and disappointment at the situation.

The suspected thief who was identified as  Samuel could be in his mid-20s was seen hanging in the roof of the shop on the morning of Monday, 1st June, 2020.

The Ghana Police Service has however come to the scene to pick up the body.

The body has been deposited at the morgue of the Ghana Police Hospital in Accra.

Investigations into the case will be started soon.
