The economy is not a cassava farm for it to mature within two years, give Nana Addo enough time – Kufuor

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has said the government needs enough time and patience from Ghanaians to put the economy on the sure path of growth.

According to him, the economy is not a cassava farm for it to mature within two years hence citizens need to be careful with their expectations.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Kofi TV, Mr Kufuor said no government is able to grow an economy within its first term. According to him, the government would spend close to a year putting its machinery together and would be left with only two years to work.

Within the two years, the government needs to be thinking about the next election in the fourth year, thus, it is very hard for any government to position the economy on a sure path to growth within that period.

He asked Ghanaians to be patient and understand that the government needs enough time to work hard to grow the economy.

Mr Kufuor’s response was to a question on how Ghanaians are crying over the economy: the increase in prices of goods and services and inflation.
