TENSION MOUNTS ON NANA ADDO OVER GOLD COAST FUND MANAGEMENT

A highly aggrived customer of Gold Coast Fund Management Mr. Emmanuel Somuah has disclosed his intention to embark on a one man protesr against NPP government over the latter’s failure to confiscate properties belonging to Dr. Papa Kwasi Nduom to settle customers whose deposits are locked up at the financial institution.

He announced that he will soon hit the high streets of Kumasi and Accra to protest against the government of the day.

As part of his line of action, he has vowed to send a strong signal to international investors that Ghana is not fit for any business related to fund management in the course of his protest.

Mr. Emmanuel Somuah whose deposit running into millions of Ghana Cedis has been locked at Dr. Nduom’s Gold Coast Fund Management for over a year now set the record straight that until his money is released, nothing will deter him from staging the demonstration, adding he will keep on exerting pressure on authorities to press home his demand.

He fingered that government’s prolonged silence over the tension between aggrived customers and management of the financial institution is a clear prove that NPP is deliberately shielding Dr. Nduom against the wrath of the laws of the country.

Unlike NAM 1, NPP he underlined has given the politician cum businessman (Dr. Nduom) too much liberty to walk as a free man “…when it is clear that has defrauded noble citizens of their hard earned deposits”.

Mr. Somuah expressed disappointment in President Akuffo Addo for proving so numb towards the issue, explaining that there are several options which government could have implemented to address this matter; “it is either they confiscate his assets and sell it out to pay off customers or take over the company to make it state owned and pay off affected customers”.

He expressed shocks over why government under the leadership of NPP has refused to fall on EOCO to probe into the operations of Gold Coast Fund Management to find out why it has run out of funds to pay customers since its operations for 25 years.

“Why has government until now failed to refer to the Depositors Protection Act which enjoins them to ensure the security of any investment that is under Bank of Ghana and that customers do not loose their funds when they invest in lincense agencies in Ghana”, he questioned.

“Why is government so sluggish to effect the law and hold Dr. Nduom to ransom for the payment of our monies. Is the judicial system no zat working?”, he roared.

Premised on the foregoing, Mr. Emmanuel Somuah who is a financial expert and a representative for affected customers of the institution described NPP government as a lifless Egyptian mummy.

He further disclosed to GHANAWISH.COM he is of the strong suspicion that government’s relaxed posture is an attempt to win political favour from Dr. Nduom- founder and leader for Progressive People’s Party (PPP).

“President Akuffo Addo wants to exercise liniency so as to earn some electoral favour from Dr. Nduom come 2020 general elections” he said.
