Taxi Knocks Down Pregnant Woman and Son, Rams Into Shop

A pregnant woman and her son have been knocked down by a taxi cab at Aduamoa Junction in Kwahu Nkwatia in the Eastern Region.

The accident occurred Monday evening around 5:00pm.

The taxi with registration number GR-5785-12 was being driven by a Teacher with St. Joseph Institute in Kwahu Tafo identified as Benjamin Bamfo.

The driver lost control of the steering wheel while driving, knocked down the pregnant woman  Esther Agyei Bempomaa,26, and her son Emmanuel Yamoah,5, who was standing at the roadside before the car crashed into a shop luckily no one was in the shop.

Both the pregnant woman and the son sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Kwahu Government Hospital at Atibie but the child was referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The driver is in Police custody assisting the investigation.
