Suspected killers of Sogakope Assemblyman remanded

Mr Vincent Adjei, the man alleged to be the main suspect in the murder of the late Assemblyman for Sogakope South Electoral Area, Mawutor Adzahli, was, on Thursday, 23 April 2020, remanded into prison custody by the Dabala District Court.

Mr Adzahli was murdered at his Sogakope residence in the Volta Region by unknown assailants on Sunday, 1 March 2020.

His wife also sustained injuries in the attack.

The main suspect was remanded with four other persons: Bright Awuya, 33; Ansong Steven, 26; Amos Agbaklah, 25; and Franklin Tetteh, 22; to reappear on Tuesday, 26 May 2020.

The Ghana Police Service, in a statement signed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Juliana Obeng, disclosed that “the suspects were from different locations.”

The police also implored “the public to continue to volunteer accurate and timely information to assist with the investigation of this crime”, adding: “The numbers to call are 191, 1855 and 0244222335.”
