Support Government To Introduce E-Levy Rather Than My Personal Decision To Buy Chelsea – Wontumi To Okudzeto

Chairman Wontumi has responded to the Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Blakk Rasta by asking them to support the government’s plan to implement an E-levy for development rather than his personal decision to own and own Chelsea FC.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a Member of Parliament for North Tongu, believes the government should not burden Ghanaians by imposing the Electronic Transactions Levy (E-levy).

Instead of organizing multiple town hall meetings to persuade Ghanaians to accept the levy, he believes the government should enlist the help of the party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi.

Blakk Rasta is also said to have pleaded with Chairman Wontumi to help his ‘broken’ party rather than buying Chelsea.

Chairman Wontumi, in response to the two gentlemen, emphasized that it was Hon. Ablakwa’s responsibility to support the government in Parliament in passing the E-levy, which is a long-term and sustainable strategy to ensure that money is always available for the country’s growth.

Ablakwa and Blakk Rasta, he claims, have failed in their respective lines of duty by failing to see that managing a football club like Chelsea is not the same as managing a country like Ghana, where authority is shared by the people rather than a single individual.
