Stop Pampering Us, Initiate A Total Lockdown- Gifty Anti

Ace Journalist and host of the Stand Point,Oheneyere Gifty Anti is calling on Government to initiate a Nationwide lockdown following the rapid increase of confirmed cases in the country.

According to Gifty Anti, the increase in the number of cases is as a result of some people’s disobedience to the directives laid down by the President to avoid the spread of the disease.

In a Facebook post she made, she compared the situation in the UK to the situation in Ghana. She stated that the death toll in the UK rises each day. The total death currently in the UK is about 10,000 due to the disobedience of the citizens to stay home just as Ghanaians are doing now she said. This, she says is enough reason to Lockdown the whole country for the safety of everyone

She wrote….

“Dear People of God, I think at this rate, I am compelled to join those calling for a total lockdown. What? What is wrong with us?

“My people, when I got to UK on 10th March 2020, there were 16 deaths. As at the time I was leaving on 22nd March 2020, the total number of deaths was close to 2,000. 2,000 corona virus-related deaths, in less than 2 weeks. Today, total deaths, due to coronavirus, in the UK, are about 10,000. All because they did not listen, just as Ghanaians are not LISTENING!!! Mr President, we can no longer do business as usual.

“I think you are over pampering us, Mr President. We will be the same people to blame and accuse you if this virus claims more lives. Please, Something has to change and immediately too,”.

Ghana has so far recorded 566 confirmed cases with 8 deaths out of the 37,000 test conducted.
