Sit Back If You Cannot Lead The Party Anymore – Kennedy Agyapong Throws Fire On NPP Executives

Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has accused the New Patriotic Party’s national executives of lacking the courage to rein in the government.

According to him, the executives have abdicated their responsibility to ensure that the Akufo-Addo administration’s appointees act in accordance with the party’s principles.

He warned that if the executives do not ensure that government policies benefit the party, party delegates will be forced to vote them out.

“The national executives should be able to hold the government accountable, but they are all cowards. You are cowards, which is why we have such accusations. We will remove you if you are not bold enough to straighten out the government. I’m telling you right now. They can bring Jesus Christ, but if there is no change in government that benefits the party, we will remove you,” he said.

Kennedy Agyapong also praised the party’s executives for taking the initiative to tour the country in order to engage the party’s grassroots.

He did, however, charge them with focusing their efforts on apologizing to the party’s grassroots for some mistakes made during the Akufo-Addo administration’s first term.

“It is proper that the national executives go around thanking the grassroots, but they should also educate the supporters and apologize to them for anything that went wrong during the first four years of the Akufo-Addo administration. They should admit their error and apologize, or it will cost us in 2024.

“They should go and apologize on behalf of the government for what went wrong. To be a leader, you must be able to admit and accept mistakes, as well as correct them,” he said.

He was concerned that the executives, rather than focusing on the party, were pushing their own agenda.

“It appears that our individual ambitions are covering everything, and we are making it appear normal, which is very dangerous,” he said.
