Shops Rejecting Mobile Money As Payment Option [Photos]

Image circulating on social media shows a shop telling customers not to use Mobile Money to purchase anything because the service has been discontinued.

The discussion over whether the E-levy should be accepted or rejected by Parliament is still going on.

Many Ghanaians have expressed their displeasure with the E-levy program, but it appears that the government has little choice but to implement it. Though the NDC has made it clear that it will not allow it to pass, several influential NPP members have pledged to make the E-levy program a reality.

Many people oppose the E-levy proposal because they believe it will cause many businesses to fail. The cashless system will go away, reverting to the old system in which individuals had to carry large sums of money only to pay for things. Many Ghanaians are concerned about this.
