‘She declared the results immediately she sent us out of the EC’s strongroom’ – Mahama’s witness

There seem to be more alleged revelations coming out of the 2020 election petition case, as far as NDC’s refusal to accept the EC’s declaration is concerned. The issue is still being roasted at the Supreme Court of the land and the court proceedings have been going on.

There has been a revelation, alleged to be the reason why the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs. Jean Mensa sent the reps of the National Democratic Congress away from the Strongroom of the Electoral Commission.

According to Dr. Michael Kpessa-Whyte, who happens to be one of the reps of John Dramani Mahama in the ‘strongroom’ of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, he has revealed there was quite a number of irregularities that went on materially during the general procedures of the just-ended 2020 presidential election.

According to him, these material irregularities were brought to the attention of the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama. He stated these in his statement as a witness to support John Dramani Mahama’s petition at the Supreme Court.

Kpessa-Whyte claims he and his mates had made known to Jean Mensa their observations, in which She ordered them to leave the Strongroom and consult John Dramani Mahama (petitioner), assuring them to hold on the declaration of the president election results until they return.

According to Kpessa-Whyte, they heard the results of the presidential election declared on their way to the petitioner, without even making certifications of some summary sheets of the results from some of the regions in the Country. So Kpessa-Whyte claims that, Jean Mensa declared the results immediately she sent them away from the EC’s strongroom.

Taking a critical look at Kpesse-Whyte’s witness statement, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, Mrs. Jean Mensa sent the NDC reps away from the EC’s strongroom to have the results declared to favor the NPP.
