The chief of Abenkyim (Anwiankwanta) Nana Ntow Onyina II and his elders as well as the Assembly man for the area including the unit committee are set to fight against sanitation defaulters.
This decision took place when the Assembly man Hon. Sarfo Kantanka Agyemang presented sanitation bins to the traditional rulers as part of the measures to fight sanitation. Nananom, Assembly man and the entire township embark on a clean-up exercise over the weekend and the assembly man on Sunday presented five sanitation bins to be position at the vantage points in the Anwiankwanta township to make the town clean.
Hon. Sarfo Kantanka explained why he brought the sanitation bins, and continue to appeal to the people in Anwiankwanta township to make good use of the bins and not to liter around. He said it is true Anwiankwanta township which is the priority of the Bekwai Municipality in terms of revenue mobilization has only one public toilet which is not in good state. He said the assembly tried their best to construct a modern toilet facility for the town but due to land conflict the contract halted.
Nana Ntow Onyina II, Abenkyimhene thanked the MCE, Assembly Man and the entire Municipal Assembly for the idea of providing them with the sanitation bins, for it is said in the bible that cleanliness is next to Godliness. He assured to make his people know the importance of these bins and made appeal that the site for toilet facility is there and welcome all investors.
