Global icon Akon and Ghanaian BET award winner Sarkodie will be headlining this year’s edition of the much anticipated Music In Africa Conference for Collaborations, Exchange 7 Showcases (ACCES), which is slated for November 28, 29 and 30.
The show, which is organised by the Music In Africa Foundation in different African cities every year, is a music business event that features an exciting line-up of musicians and industry experts from over 50 countries across the globe.
This year’s edition would see Akon and Sarkordie joined on stage by some top Ghanaian artistes, including Samini, Efya, Ebo Taylor, Bibie Brew and Wanlov the Kubolor.
Other confirmed international artistes also include Mokoomba (Zimbabwe), Songhoy Blues (Mali), Gato Preto (Mozambique and Ghana but based in Germany), Arka’n (Togo), Sibusile Xaba (South Africa), Ifrikya Spirit (Algeria), Lúcia de Carvalho (Angola but based in France) and Bholoja (eSwatini).
ACCES 2019 also has on its line-up a wide range of activities, including panel discussions, exhibitions, networking and pitching sessions, production workshops and live performances by artistes from Africa and the Diaspora.
The workshops are designed for musicians, producers, sound engineers and film and video game composers who would explore music production essentials, and music for film.
Facilitators would include Chocolate City Vice President Aibee Abidoye from (Nigeria), Ditto Music founder and CEO Lee Parsons (UK), Managing Director for Airforce1 Records, Joe Chialo (Germany), Boomplay Ghana Manager Elizabeth Ntiamoah (Ghana), among many other renowned business experts from various countries.
The programme would be spread across three venues — Ghana Academy of Arts & Sciences for the conference programme; Alliance Française for evening live performances on November 28 and 30 and the Gold Coast Hub for performances on November 29.
