Sacked Milovan Rajevac Rejects $270,000 Handshake

Following the Black Stars’ early withdrawal from the Africa Cup of Nations, the Ghana Football Association has fired the Serbian coach of the national side.

Milovan Rajevac, according to the report has refused to accept his $270,000 settlement.

Rajevac’s dismissal comes a day after the Ministry of Youth and Sports instructed the GFA to “examine” the technical team of the Black Stars’ work and capacity.

According to a statement released by Minister of Sports Mustapha Ussif on Friday, January 21, 2022, the GFA expressed “strongly the disappointment of the Ghanaian people and their government in the national team’s dismal performance, culminating in our group-stage elimination.”

According to the statement, “the ministry made it obvious to the GFA that the people of Ghana have lost faith in the current technical team of the Black Stars’ ability to produce success.”

Ghana was eliminated from the ongoing competition in Cameroon after failing to win a single game.
