Natives of Kubease community , a suburb of bosuso in the Eastern region at the Fanteakwa south district have been using death trap Toilet over some years now.
However, the public toliet which serves the the whole of kubease community and some part of bosuso township have been left to rot without any maintenance which has become one of challenges the resident are facing in the community.
Due to such problem, open defecation has become normal in the community due to lack of adequate retention for the Toilet.
Some of Dwellers in the community who spoke to the media lamented that, they boycotted the use of the latrine because some there’s nobody at post to clean to the toliet day in and day .
A native who leave close to latrine said that they he always use plastic rubber and after throw it into the bush because he is afraid he might be bitten by serpent.
Also, its situated in the bush so sometimes when they use it , serpent chases them out.
Some of the roofs are not in good shape which is very risky to use.
Some of the buildings have cracks in them which can be broken down when there’s a heavy storm
Furthermore, they hinted that , they have reported the challenges they have been facing to the Assembly member of the electoral Area. Hon Eshun Francis Nkumsah but as a now theres no positive feedback from him.
They are appealing to NGO’S and other stakeholders to help overcome the problem .
This Toilet was constructed under the formal president kuffuor’s Administration.
It is one of the HIPC BENEFITS project.
