Former president of Ghana, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings has finally reacted to the BBC investigative piece dubbed ‘s£x for grade’.
In his view, he really wants external markers to handle exams so that the situation can be controlled.
He stated that many brilliant students, particularly ladies who refuse to accept their lecturer’s sexual proposals end up being cheated in their results.
He also believes that students who are academically weak get huge grades after trading themselves results.
“Apparently sometimes, the dumb ones, get upgraded; either first class or second class honours or whatever it is, when everybody knows that they are not worth it,
Why should we be taking human beings through such humiliations [sex for grades],” he questioned and added that there was nothing “as bad and corruptible as breaking the moral fabric of society,” he said.
