Public Urged To Be Wary Of Expired Products In The Market

 

A taskforce from the Environmental Health and Sanitation Department of the Wenchi Municipal Assembly in the Bono Region has siezed bottled and canned different drinks which had their expiry dates from some shops.

Head of the environmental health and sanitation department of the Wenchi Municipal Assembly, Mr Turkson Zoyar, said the taskforce which is on a monitoring excercise within the Municipality detected that the expiry dates on some of the drinks at some shops in Wenchi had elapsed.

He said the excercise is to camp down on shops owners who sell expired products.

Mr Turkson Zoyar said owners of the shops risk being prosecuted but we have siezed the products and cautioned them not to sell expired products again.

According to him the exercise is to help the public who buy expired product and don’t know where and how to report.

The expired products that have been siezed have been sent to their office.

Mr Turkson Zoyar finally urged the general public to be wary of expired products in the market.
