Protect health workers or your fight against COVID-19 fails – Mahama to Akufo-Addo

Former President of Ghana, John Dramni Mahama has called on the government to as much as possible protect health professionals because, without them, the already struggling fight to contain the spread of COVID-19 will be a failure.

Ghana has lost four astute Doctors to COVID-19 with several other health practitioners infected by the deadly disease across the country.

The Ghana Medical Association has attributed the rise in the number of infected health workers to the unavailability of logistics like testing kits, Personal Protective Equipment, PPEs for protection of health workers across the country.

Reacting to this in a post on his social media platforms, the former President who is the leader of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) said it’s imperative for the government to take good care of citizens especially health professionals.

According to him, if that is not done, the country’s struggling fight against the deadly virus will fail woefully and put the whole country at risk of getting infected.

John Dramani Mahama said, “We need to ensure greater protection for all our citizens especially the health workers because, without them, the already struggling fight to contain the spread of COVID-19 will be a failure”.
