President Mahama presents State of the Nation address today

President John Mahama will today Thursday, February 25, deliver his fourth State of the Nation Address to Parliament.

The address is delivered annually in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 constitution which states: “The President shall, at the beginning of each session of Parliament and before dissolution of Parliament, deliver to Parliament a message on the state of the nation.”

The President’s address today is expected to cover the various challenges that faced the country in the past year including issues on the economy, the power situation, education, roads, health, water, agriculture, corruption and other key areas.

He is also expected to indicate measures his administration put in place to solve those challenges.

In his third State of the Nation address in 2015, President Mahama touched on a myriad of issues from the economy to power, announcing government’s plans to invest GH¢1 billion in road projects across the country.
