Residents of Dankor Community in the Wa West District have expressed worry over the poor road network linking the community to other adjourning communities.
A residents in the community, Madam Dari Boyeleh, stated that, the situation have led to difficulties in accessing healthcare services in other communities. Madam Dari added that, the road gets flooded anytime it rains, which posed a threat to the lives of pregnant women in particular in accessing antenatal care services at the Lassie Health Center.
Madam Dar also stated that vulnerable persons at the community are denied enrollment onto the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty, LEAP programme.
Other residents of the Dankor community also explained that they had to cross water before they could access health care services at Lassie, which they said is detrimental to their health.
Meanwhile, the assembly member for the Lassie Electoral Area, Micheal Arah Sei-uu said he has written letters to the Wa West District Assembly to find solution to the road issus in the electoral area. According to him, the Wa West District Chief Executive has assured him that, he will soon work on those roads.
