Pragia Kills Woman In Kumasi

DISASTER STRUCK on Saturday afternoon after a woman in her mid-20s was killed by a tricycle also known as ‘Pragia’.

The gory incident happened at the Buokrom Estate Junction, a suburb in the Kumasi Metropolis, when the woman was waiting for a vehicle.

Eye witnesses said a speeding mini bus from the Buokrom Estate Junction area to the Kumasi Airport Roundabout, ran into a moving Pragia.

The man in charge of the Pragia suddenly lost control, resulting in the tricycle hitting the unknown woman, who was standing by the roadside.

The woman was still alive but she was badly bruised, so she was reportedly rushed to the Manhyia Government Hospital for treatment.

Because the woman’s injuries were life-threatening, she was referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where she died shortly on arrival.

Eye witnesses said that they suspect the mini bus developed a break fault and that resulted in the unfortunate crash that killed the woman.

The heavily-bruised body had since been deposited in a morgue, awaiting autopsy. The police are also investigating the cause of the crash.
