Founder of the National Democratic Party (NDP) Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has denied suggestions that her party is flirting with the largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to her, the NDP has not entered into any such relations with the NPP to oust the ruling National Democratic Congress of which she was a former member.

Barely two days to the 2012 elections, there was communication mix-up when the NPP Flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo told thousands of NPP supporters at the party’s final rally in Accra on Wednesday that information picked up by his campaign team indicated that Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings had endorsed him and had directed all her supporters to vote for the NPP presidential candidate and the NDP parliamentary candidates.

However in a swift response the office of the ex-first lady who was then the flagbearer of the NDP denied endorsing Nana Akufo-Addo, but she only asked her followers to make a good assessment of their living standards and evaluate the various policies being trumpeted by the various parties.

As the 2016 elections draw near political watchers are speculating that the NDP founder is likely to enter into a partnership with the NPP to oust the NDC party of which she has become an avowed critic, judging by the way the Nana Konadu in recent times sings the same tune with NPP’s Nana Akufo Addo against the ruling party.

Speaking on Kasapa  FM, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings stated that in as much as the NDP has no intention of going into an alliance with the NPP, politics is full of surprises.

“In politics you never say never because the situation today may change tomorrow. I will say that you should always weigh your options in politics and for me that’s key but we’re going all out to win this elections.”
