Police hospital to begin mass burial for unidentified bodies to free up space

The Ghana Police Hospital in Accra has announced for the notice of the General Public that it intends to organize a mass burial service for bodies at the Police Hospital, MyNewsGh.com can report.

A statement from the hospital said the mass burial has become imperative due to the need to decongest the Police Hospital morgue which has been contested by unidentified and unclaimed dead bodies.

In the statement which was released on April 17, 2020, signed by DSP Yaw Nketia-Yeboah it said that the process will begin fourteen days after the dissemination of the statement.

However, families who will want to identify their bodies and sign an undertaking to adhere to social distancing and President’s order of Private funeral with people numbering not more than 25 will be given the opportunity to take their bodies away.

Parts of Ghana is currently on partial lockdown whiles public gathering has been banned across the country. Families out of the lockdown areas have the privilege of organizing private funerals with people, not more 25.
