Claims have arisen saying a few Tanzanians have been captured and detained after they chose to party and celebrate while the nation is grieving the dying of President John Pombe Magufuli.
According to sources, Tanzanians who support the opposition party CHADEMA yesterday slaughtered a goat, had several alcoholic drinks, while the rest of the country was mourning the departed Magufuli.
Tanzanian activist Kigogo noted that at least 25 people were arrested, adding that police have denied them a police bond.
Kigogo took to Twitter and posted the allegation while tagging along with Tanzanian Police Service.
“OCD wenu wa Mpanda Chacha Marwa amekamata zaidi ya wanachama 25 wa @ChademaTz na kuwaweka lockup, wamepigwa na kuumizwa sana na wamenyimwa dhamana kwa tuhuma za kuwa wamechinja mbuzi jana na kunywa pombe kipindi cha msiba!” tweeted Kigogo which loosely translates to
