Two guys reported to be Mobile Money Fraudsters have been reportedly caught after defrauding a MOMO user and their account got blocked.
The two guys (name withheld) defrauded an MTN MOMO user and their account were blocked after the victim reported them to the office of MTN, they decided to go to the Takoradi Market Circle branch of MTN for their account to be unblocked for them to be able to withdraw 250 Ghana Cedis after they had already withdrawn 3,000 Ghana Cedis.
Mobile Money defrauding has been a huge part of the Ghanaian society in recent times with people losing huge money due to the acts.
According to the victim, one of the criminals called her that he has mistakenly transferred an amount of 3000 Ghana cedis into her MoMo account which she needs to be transferred back to him. She later released she’s been defrauded so she reported to the MTN office, Takoradi branch.
The two thieves have been handed to the central police station in Takoradi, Western Region of Ghana.
