Police briefing to the media today at Dormaa Ahenkro Municipality indicates a 20 year commercial cyclists (Pragyia Rider) by name Wisdom has burnt his girlfriend Maa Afia who is 18 years and two other people.
According to Piesie Nana Kumi Bentu, the morning show host of Gifts 105.5 FM situated at Dormaa Ahenkro in the Bono Region of Ghana, the police reported that the unfortunate incidence occurred as a result of divorce.
According to witnesses report from the police, there have been some misunderstanding between the said parties at home and it resulted to divorce.
The suspect, Wisdom who rides someone’s commercial tricycle, “pragyia” for living, set fire to ablaze his wife’s room at midnight whilst the woman and two other people were deeply and fast asleep.
The three of them who were in the room got burnt together with all their belongings in the room.
The fire service was called to the scene to rescue the people who were in the room and sustained them alive. They managed the situation to prevent extension of the fire to other households.
The case is with the Dormaa Municipal Police Command pending on investigations while the suspect by name Wisdom has been arrested And the three victims have been referred to KATH, Kumasi for medical applications and attention.
