When we talk about poor educational infrastructure in rural communities, mostly the focus is on school under trees.

But Pupils of Akateng Manya D/A PRIMARY School in Upper Mannya District do not learn under trees. However, it will be fair to say they study under conditions worse than that. They learn under a structure built of trees stamps roofed with nimtree strumps. But even more disturbing is the absence of desks for the children. The pupils sit on join board to learn. Some bring in chair from home which they sit on in class.
Education in these Community is tough, speaking to the pupils said” if the rain rains, we close because when it raining, the rain beat us”

The Chiefs and the School authorities accused the DCE and the MP for not putting any effort to the bad condition of the primary school.
The Chiefs and the authorities are appealing to good Samaritans NGOs to support them with a school.
The Chiefs accused District Chief Executive Officer, Felix Odjao Nartey for keeping the Community premix fuel percentage that to be used to put up a structure for the pupils to enhance their learning. The Akateng Manya Community are calling on the DCE to release their 5,500 Gh¢ to start a structure.
