Owusu Bempah, Prophet Oduro, others rule out ‘1 hour-100 members’ option

More churches refuse to open up and adopt government’s ‘1 hour-100 members’ directive amidst rising cases of Coronavirus in the country.

Joining the fray is founder of the Gorious Word Power Ministry International, Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah, and General Overseer of the Alabaster Ministries, Prophet Kofi Oduro.

President Nana Adoo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as part of his 10th address to the nation on issues relating to the pandemic stated, that some restrictions will be eased.

This he said, forms part of efforts to help Ghanaians learn practical and safe ways to ‘live with the virus’.

Following that, many church leaders who had already adopted the online mode of services, have stuck to their guns, maintaining their mode of operation, despite the new directives.

Rev. Owusu Bempah, who has a large following, has since maintained his services will continue to stream online as the church remains closed to congregants.

Prophet Kofi Oduro, on his part said, in a statement that “All Alabaster International Ministry churches nationwide and abroad remain closed until further notice.

“All our services will remain online, on radio and on television. Leadership will in course of time carefully pray and seek the face of God as well as monitor the situation closely and communicate further measures to reopen Alabaster again for congregational worship.”

Other churches including Solid Rock Chapel International, headed by Rev. Dr. Christy Doh Tetteh; International Central Gospel Church headed by Pastor Mensa Otabil; and Royal House Chapel headed by Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah have also chosen to stick to the virtual online services. Their churches remain closed till further notice.

Founder of Perez Chapel, Rev. Agyinasare however says all smaller branches of his church will be opened to receive members under strict observance of the president’s directive, while the Headquarters at Dzorwulu remains closed.
