The Police Administration has described the appointment of James Oppong-Boanuh as well as the extension of his service as an endorsement of actions started by him.
The service believes the confidence reposed in him will go a long way in preventing and reducing the fear of crime in the country.
President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, confirmed confirmed James Oppong-Boanuh as the substantive Inspector-General of Police.
He takes over from David Asante-Appeatu, who was asked by the President to proceed on leave pending his retirement from the police service.
The President also granted Oppong-Boanuh, who has equally hit his retirement age, a two-year extension in service.
