Okudzeto-Ablakwa condemns the insults by some WASSCE candidates on President Akufo-Addo over failed apor

Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Sam Okudzeto-Ablakwa has condemned the pockets of insults hurled at President Akufo-Addo by some WASSCE candidates after ‘apor’ swerved them.

Social media has been washed with several videos of distraught West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) candidates who have used unprintable words on the president for allowing them to fail.

In most of these videos, these teenagers were seen vandalizing school property and issuing stern warnings to both local authorities and the government to allow them space to copy and pass their papers or they come for their heads.

Following that, the NDC legislator believes these actions are not to be condoned since they depict the degree of indiscipline in various schools across the country.

In a tweet, Sam Okudzeto-Ablakwa said education is not just about passing exams but the nurturing of values and virtues for a successful life.

Vandalizing school property & insulting the President because you are not pleased with your exams must be the height of indiscipline, insubordination & disrespect which must be condemned by all. Education is not just about passing exams, it is more about shaping good character.

Many Ghanaians have fumed at the height of sheer impunity and disrespect fueled by entitlement that has been exhibited by these students.

However, others are of the view that the Free SHS policy may not have been implemented properly or the tuition these students had received is not up to the level where they are confident enough to pass their papers without the help of a third party.

Other opinions have it that the government may have made some unrealistic promises to these students which may have given them a false sense of entitlement backed by audacity to disagree with how hard their questions have been set.
