The Member of Parliament (MP) for Afigya Kwabre North in the Ashanti Region, Collins Adomako-Mensah has disagreed with assertions that the governing New Patriotic party (NPP) will lose if elections are held today.
According to the Law maker, although there are challenges with the management of the country, he is not sure Ghanaians are prepared to vote the NDC back to power if elections are held today.
“I am not sure the NPP will lose if elections are held today…of course there are cahllenges but that does not mean we will lose if elections are held today…,” he said on UTV’s Critical Issues.
There have been suggestions the ruling party will lose massively if elections are held today due to a number of factors; the latest being the increasing insecurity in the country.
The inability of the #Fixthecountry demonstrators to embark on a demonstration to press home the need to fix certain things in the country has been cited as another reason.
But the MP insists that the COVID-19 disease has been a major contributing factor to the abysmal economy in the country now.
He argued that Ghana would have been better off if the pandemic had not hit hard at our economy.
