NPP Will Win Akwatia Seat Again – Akufo-Addo

Ghana’s President, H.E Akufo-Addo, has promised to win the 2024 parliamentary seat for the New Patriotic Party in the next general elections, revealing that he was greatly saddened when the NPP lost the Akwatia seat in the 2020 election.

President Akufo-Addo stated that the Akwatia seat was not among those that the NPP expected to lose in the elections.

On Thursday, October 7, 2021, at a durbar of Chiefs and people of Akwatia as part of his trip of the Eastern Region, President Akufo-Addo stated that the NPP will do all possible to reclaim the seat.

He claims that regaining the seat is a must-win for the party.

“In the 2020 elections, the NPP lost a lot of parliamentary seats we should have won.” The Akwatia seat was one of those that bothered me the most. I’m not sure what occurred, but I was disappointed that Akwatia joined the NDC, but I can guarantee you that in 2024, we would do everything possible to reclaim that seat,” he stated.
