The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is electing parliamentary candidates for some 106 ‘orphan constituencies’ today, Saturday, 28 September 2019 ahead of the 2020 general elections.
The ‘orphan constituencies’ are those with seats held by the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). However, polls in six of the constituencies have been suspended for various reasons.
Meanwhile, primaries in the remaining constituencies which have NPP MPs are scheduled for January 2020.
